Monday morning

He leaned into his shower and turned the knobs for the hot and cold water, letting it run hard into the tub. As he straightened up, he saw another dark hair on the shower wall.

I need to have a talk with the cleaning lady, he said to himself sarcastically.

He peeled the new hair off the wall and tossed it into the trash. Then he reached for the knob to turn on the shower. Before he could lay his hand on the knob, however, a strangled gurgle came from the shower drain. Water backed up into the tub.

He was going to be late for work.

“Let’s see how you like drain cleaner, fuckers,” he muttered as he marched out of the bathroom, toward the utility closet.

Something wafted down from the ceiling and landed on his shoulder. It was another of her hairs. It curled around his shirt collar. Disgusted, he yanked it off and tossed it into the sink.

He looked up at the bathroom ceiling. There were two more partially stuck to the ceiling. How in the hell did they even get up there?!
