Stephen King: Can a Novelist Be Too Productive?

An excellent New York Times piece by Stephen King that discusses how literary critics view writers whose bodies of work are just “too big”.

Really, we write too little, we are ignored as amateurs. We write too much, we’re accuse of writing too quickly to really write well (read: we are hacks).

Try not to judge a writer by the count of books in their back catalog.
